Odhaduje sa, že v súčasnosti sa "nad povrchom zeme? nachádza 120 - 140 tis. ton zlata. Pre lepšiu predstavivosť je to kocka o hrane asi 19 metrov. Ak rozložíme zlato na každého obyvateľa planéty, tak na jedného človeka pripadne 23g, čo je pri súčasnej hodnote asi US$820.

Currently, China’s gold reserves are a little over 1,000 tonnes.
