Afrika priťahuje investície

Rastúci hlad sveta po nerastných zdrojoch vedie globálnych investorov na miestami „až veľmi bohatý“ africký kontinent. Aj malé nevýrazné Togo sa dostáva do obzoru investorov .

Africa is attracting much more mining investment this century, and rightly so. Togo is one country we have not heard much about, but now Lithic has completed the acquisition of Regent Resources Capital Corp (RRCC) and its base metal and uranium assets in Togo, and plans to move them forward.

The Haito project covers approximately 30 km on strike of ophiolite complex, highly prospective for lateritic/saprolitic nickel, copper and chromite.

Togo

UN-sponsored exploration programs over a small portion of the ophiolite complex identified nickel values to 4% Ni, copper values to 4.9% Cu and chromite values to 44% Cr. A soil sampling programme completed as part of the UN-funded program over a small portion of the licence area identified a >1 km² nickel anomaly grading >1% Ni, which remains open along strike. Lithic intends to extend soil sampling coverage, undertake test pitting, profiling and drill testing of the existing anomaly in early 2008, as well as exploring the untested extent of the ophiolite complex.

An extensive program of surface geochemistry, detailed and comprehensive airborne and ground geophysical surveys plus about 15,000 m of diamond drilling identified zinc mineralisation over a number of target areas within zinc soil anomalies extending over approximately 20 km².
