Irán bude pokračovať v obohacovaní uránu

Aj napriek dodávkam obohateného uránu z Ruska bude Irán naďalej pokračovať v obohacovaní uránu. USA sú samozrejme proti.

Iran says it is still planning to expand its controversial uranium enrichment program, amid news it has just received its first shipment of nuclear fuel from Russia.

Russia delivered the uranium at the weekend, despite international concerns Iran is planning to build a nuclear weapon.

While the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) has condemned Iran's secretive uranium enrichment program, Russia has been helping it build a nuclear reactor at Bushehr on the Persian Gulf.

The first shipment of Russian-made fuel has now arrived and Iran says the Bushehr plant is expected to be producing electricity by the middle of next year.

Russia says the fuel cannot be used to make a nuclear weapon and it has urged Iran to shut down its own enrichment program to prove that its intentions are peaceful.

US President George W Bush says Iran has no need to continue its nuclear enrichment program now that Russia has started delivering fuel to the plant.

He says he supports the Russian move.

But Iran says it is going to expand its enrichment program to make fuel for a different sort of power reactor that it is building in Khuzestan province.
