Preteky v zbrojení opätovne naberajú na sile. Ani globálna ekonomická kríza nezastavila silnejšie krajiny, aby v minulom roku na zbrojenie vynaložili viac financií. Pripravujú sa na novú globálnu vojnu?
World’s leading countries spend too much of their war preparations. A new arms race has been gathering pace in the world recently, and even the global economic setback does not seem to be a reason to stop the race.
The growth of Russia’s and China’s defense spending is rather impressive.
Consequently, the USA takes the first place on the top ten list of the countries that had the largest funding of their defense industries in 2008. China comes second, France comes third with Britain, Russia, Germany, Japan, Italy, Saudi Arabia and India following.
Iran, Israel, India, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, Algeria, Brazil and Britain contributed a lot to the growth of defense spending in the world this year. All these countries were not spending so much on their defense before. The countries of the Middle East will increase their defense spending next year – they already plan large-scale arms deals.
