3 tony striebra na Líbyu
Striebro sa v mnohých prípadoch nenávratne spotrebováva. Príkladom sú aj takmer tri tony "vyslané na Líbyu". Každá strela Tomahawk obsahuje od 100 do 500 trójskych uncí striebra. Ak si vezmeme okolo 200 odpálených striel, tak v sumári sú to asi 3 tony striebra. Síce nehumánne, avšak nenávratne odobraté z trhu.
Ďalšou rastúcou oblasťou nenávratnej spotreby striebra sú nanotechnológie.
