Do roku 2020 vzrastie dopyt po diamantoch (karátoch) každoročne 6%, čo značne prekročí predpokladanú ročnú ponuku 2,8%. Týmto sa pre diamantový priemysel vytvorí štrukturálny nedostatok, ktorý potenciálne bude mať za následok zvýšenie ich ceny.
