Každý investor sa v súčasnosti obracia k zlato ako ku komodite s najväčšou perspektívou. Avšak investor a miliardár Jim Rogers tvrdí, že cukor je ešte lepšou možnosťou. Jeho cena je 75-80% pod maximom z roku 1974. Ďalšou horúcou komoditou je podľa neho aj ropa.

Every investor is these days tracking the movement of the hottest commodity--gold. But renowned global commodities investor Jim Rogers says the hottest commodity around now is sugar. Saying that agricultural commodities are set for a big bull run, Rogers said that turmoil in currencies is turning people to commodities.

And among agricultural commodities, Rogers is very bullish on sugar, saying "sugar is indeed white gold."

'Sugar is 75-80 per cent below its all-time high in 1974,' he said.

Oil, another commodity that he has tapped to soar in value, will also have a major effect on the price of sugar, he said.

'The surprise is going to be how high the price of oil is going to be and how high it's going to stay,' said Mr Rogers.

He was also bullish on agricultural commodities in general for Central Asia, Brazil and Africa.
