EURO pred kolapsom
1:5 je podľa CEBR šanca EUR na prežitie. Dôvodom sú požiadavky na drastické zníženie životnej úrovne v krajinách EÚ. 5 krajín IRL, GRE, ESP, POR a ITA musia výdavky zredukovať o 15%, aby sa mohlo pokračovať s EUR-om. Pre porovnanie Briti počas WWII museli výdavky znížiť o 14%.
The City of London sees the survival of the euro highly unlikely in the very short term. One British consultancy, the Center for Economic and Business Research (CEBR), gives the euro a one in five chance of survival because of the demands for a drastic reduction of living standards make it unsustainable.
CEBRE chief executive Douglas McWilliams is quoted in today's Scotsman saying that Ireland, Greece, Spain, Portugal and Italy would have to cut consumer spending by 15% in order for the euro to carry on. These are cuts that surpass the 14% cut undergone by the British during World War II.
