Najlepšie a najhoršie komodity

V závislosti na výkone a možnom pohybe v budúcnosti v prípade, že by sa obdobná kríza ako v roku 2008 znova opakovala Barclays Capital zostavil zoznam najlepších a najhorších komodít následovne: Najlepšie - platina, bavlna, olovo, kakao. Najhoršie - hovädzie, CBOT pšenica, jatočné ošípané, hovädzie na výkrm.

Barclays Capital has come out the most 'beautiful' and the most 'ugliest' commodities list based on their likey performance if a 2008-style financial crisis were to occur again and here is the list.

The more "beautiful" commodities are platinum, cotton, lead, carbon and cocoa. Most of this group have already seen big price falls and have a fairly low level of linkage to the global economic cycle and good support from emerging markets.

The "ugliest" looking commodities (ie, those that market participants are likely to view as most exposed to a recession) are feeder cattle, lean hogs, gasoil, live cattle and KBOT wheat. The common factors amongst these commodities is that prices have yet to fall as far as for other commodities, speculative positioning is still relatively high and these markets tend to exhibit a fairly strong degree of linkage to the economic cycle.

The rankings have been made based on recent price movements, level of linkage to economic cycles, proximity to cost floors, leverage to EM demand and degree of speculative overhang.
