Pokiaľ považujeme nerastné suroviny aj ako investície, tak táto tabuľka ponúka prehľad ich návratnosti od roku 2002. Najlepšiu návratnosť mal nikel v roku 2006 (154,45%), najhoršiu olovo v 2008 (62,52%). V roku 2011 bol na tom najhoršie zemný plyn so stratou 32,15%.
