Do poľnohospodárskeho sektoru investori obvykle investujú cez akcie spoločností event. ETF. Avšak zabúdajú na jednu možnosť a to je je priama investícia do pôdy. Akcie a ETFs majú vyššiu volatilitu ceny ako samotná pôda. Samozrejme, že s "doposiaľ ešte lacnou pôdou" v rozvojových krajinách je spojené aj určité riziko. Preto dôkladná analýza všetkých okolností je potrebná.
