Zatiaľ sa v kuloároch objavujú tri varianty: v pozadí nákupu stojí ruský miliardár; tajné nákupy čínskej centrálnej banky; čínsky obchodníci využívajú importované striebro k získaniu úveru (obdobne, ako u medi).
