Eric Sprott uviedol, že vzhľadom na spomalenie globálnej ekonomiky má negatívne vyhliadky pre vývoj cien bežných kovov; na druhej strate zlato a ropu vidí pozitívne. Podľa neho cena zlata v tomto roku presiahne US$2000/oz a striebra US$50/oz.
