Ľudstvo sa dostalo do bodu, kedy nárast populácie a exponenciálny nárast množstva peňazí v obehu zostáva silný. Naopak ťažba zlata sa nezvyšuje.Stále na obyvateľa sa ťaží rovnaké množstvo zlata ako v roku 1959. Podľa teórie Huberta Kinga (Peak Oil) koexistencia monetárneho systému a zdrojov je možná len v prípade, ak oba elementy sa vyvíjajú rovnakým tempom.

We reach a point where the growth of the world population and the exponential growth of the money supply remains strong, while the growth of the gold production is seriously threatened. According to King Hubert, for whom the coexistence of the monetary system and resources is only possible when both systems keep pace:
