Western Goldfields (WGDFF) – technický a analytický pohľad

WGDFF má v nasledujúcom období pozitívne vyhliadky na zvýšenie hodnoty svojich akcií.

Western Goldfields trading on OTCBB is taking a different tack than most juniors. Instead of exploring, it is relying on expanding a prolific past-producing gold mine. It is betting on its Mesquite mine in Southern California. Once owned by Newmont, this rich open-pit heap-leach mine produced 4m ounces of gold between 1985 and 2001. Due tolow gold prices in 2001, it was mothballed. While Newmonthad high hopes for Mesquite, it chose to shelf its expansion of this mine and refocus its efforts on other properties withinits massive global gold-mining portfolio.

So Western Gold-fields was able to swoop in and acquire Mesquite. After anew feasibility study, Mesquite’s gold reserves were pegged at 2.3m ounces with another 1.2m of resources. The plan is to mine 165k ounces annually for nine years at cash costsin the $300 range. Mesquite should be up and producing by Q2’08 or so. The company’s management team is made up of former executives from Barrick Gold, Coeur d’Alene, and Kinross Gold, including Barrick’s former CEO Randall Oli-phant. These guys know gold and they are betting heavilyon Western Goldfields. This stock has been beaten down inthe last couple weeks due to a big stock offering to finance Mesquite mining preparation. We suspect that this company will secure an AMEX listing this year too, put-ting it on far more radars than it is today. It should thrive.
